Chief Executive Officer, Brighter Super
Kate Farrar, Chief Executive Officer, Brighter Super took over as incoming President of QFI on 31 March, 2024. Kate’s appointment is a reflection of her distinguished career, commitment to Queensland and Brighter Super’s long-standing and proud association with Queensland Futures Institute. With roots in the energy sector, financial services and local government, Brighter Super under Kate’s guidance has been on a significant growth trajectory to become the fourth largest non-government financial institution, based on funds under management, in Queensland. Kate’s extensive experience in leadership roles across finance and energy sectors, including as Managing Director of QEnergy, Chief Operating Officer at Ergon Energy Retail, and senior positions at Morgans Stockbroking, McKinsey and Company, and Suncorp Investment Management, positions her perfectly to support and steer QFI towards a promising future.
On the announcement of her new role, Kate said, “Being appointed President of QFI is a profound honour and a responsibility I accept with deep commitment. We stand at the cusp of shaping a brighter future for Queensland, our regions, through a lens of growth and innovation."
