The Queensland Finance Council (QFC) harnesses collaborative thought-leadership from pre-eminent leaders and stakeholders targeted at driving new opportunities to shape the future prosperity and expansion of the financial services sector in Queensland.

Launched in October 2022 by the Queensland Treasurer, the Queensland Finance Council supports the development of a single voice for the financial services industry in Queensland and provides a forum for Queensland Finance CEO’s to discuss issues of mutual interest including:
    • Promoting Queensland as a location for financial services and opportunities to expand the sector
    • Creating pathways for talented Queenslanders to pursue careers in financial services
    • Engaging with stakeholders, including Government, in the importance of the finance sector in Queensland
    • Ensuring Queensland residents and businesses have access to high quality financial services to protect their long-term financial interests
    • Promoting financial literacy and understanding of Queensland’s Finance Sector
    • Coordinating activities to support financial services sector growth (eg: scholarships and industry promotion)
Including biannual meetings, an annual economic outlook forum and targeted research support, the Queensland Finance Council is auspiced by the Queensland Futures Institute (QFI), with administrative and coordination support included within the QFI’s existing Leading Membership fee.
